Its ruining my life, im a biology major and going into occupational therapy field and when i learn about the brain more and get more educated, i feel more sad of my father because his trap and his alcoholism is affecting the family. i feel so bad not talking to him but i want to have a father and son relationship but with alcoholic it will never happen. How do i deal with this pain on my chest.How do i deal with a alcoholic Father?
You can read every book in the world on how to help and get tons of advice from Yahoo, but let's face it, there are professionals that fix these problems for a living. It's kind of like investing your money on your own. Why would you do it when the world is full of stock brokers that know what they're doing. I would trust the advise of a professional if you want to address the matter, otherwise you could address the matter incorrectly and set yourself up for failure. He has to want to quit. You and your family could have n intervention, but ultimately it is up to him. You might have to remove yourself from the problem. You have to put you and your family first.
Have you considered alcohol counselling for family members, it helps to have someone, or maybe a group in your area that deals with this problem, it helps alot getting it off your chest, good luck
take away his bear everytime he drinks and hide all his alcohol or see a theripst but that probably wont help actually
