How do you deal with an alcoholic spouse?

Married for 15 years...together for 21...relationship gone sour and not sure what to doHow do you deal with an alcoholic spouse?
I myself have been going through this. We have been married for 12 years together 14. I have sat down and discussed this with my husband and he knows how upsetting this is to me.

He knows he has a problem with the drinking but he is not ready for help. So, I suggest talking to him about it. Then all you can do is support him and encourage him daily to do what is right. until they are ready and willing to get help that's all you can do.

you have to be willing to fight to save him and your marriage or make the chose to leave. How do you deal with an alcoholic spouse?
I have 3 kids myself. It is hard for them to see this. But what hurts us now will make us stronger. hopefully one day soon we can have the joy of seeing our spouses be alcohol free. good luck to you and your family.

Sit down and talk to them and let them know, in calm voice, how you are feeling and that you care for them and don't want them to keep going down this road. Tell them they need help and you are telling them this because you love them very much.
Check out local Al-Anon open meetings. I have had friends with alcoholic spouses and this has helped many of them enormously. I am totally serious about this. There are an awful lot of good people in Al-Anon. At least please keep an open mind about it if nothing else.

Good luck.
